Hunt #1

I'm beginning to feel my nesting wings again and have been on this nifty site for hours now. I have so many ideas for our new place on how to decorate it and what I want to buy, but I must be careful not to go to overboard. Right now I'm on an old wood vintage vibe. In the Smith's house, I found the perfect item to begin my hunt for decorative items: a vintage type case drawer.

Mrs Smith's Drawer

These drawers were used to hold movable type pieces for use in printing presses. Like this one:

Some people use them now as wall displays because all the little sections can hold souvenirs, knick knacks, etc.

Neat piece of trivia I found while researching the drawers: We call our capitalized letters uppercase and our small letters lowercase because of their location in the printing press drawers. The capitalized letters were in the upper drawers and in the lower drawers were the small letter presses. Neat right?

Happy hunting for your own treasures!
