It's time for 10 Things Tuesday where I list happenings, thoughts, and feelings from the past few days. Today Ike is helping me co-write 10 things!
1. Tasting: Cold ripe cherries. I'm so glad they are in season. I call them mini-plums because they kind of taste similar to me.
2. Feeling: Excited. We are going to the city this weekend!
3. Seeing: (from Ike) We stopped in to visit my high school band teacher at his used bookstore. He was happy to finally meet Jewel, and we're going to meet up for lunch and more chatting on Monday.
4. Hearing: (from Jewel) I finally heard Ike play his drums by himself. He brought them up to New York with him, and he jammed out this weekend. It was nice; it was loud, but cool.
5. Smelling: Eliot's stinky dog breath. Eliot (sometimes better known as Smelliot) has a habit of getting right up in your face when you're laying on the couch. Normally this is only annoying due to the noise and humidity, but lately it's been pretty odoriferous as well. We gave him a dog treat that was supposed to clean his breath, but to no avail. ("Everybody knows I don't use the word 'odoriferous,'" said Jewel.)
6. Finding: Tons of antiques at several stores around Binghamton and Endicott. I (Ike) got a desk lamp and a glass commemorating the town of Endicott.
7. Habits: One habit that we have developed is sitting on opposite couches in the family room, immersed in our separate computers. It would seem that we never communicate, but we are bonded in our mutual love for technology. Maybe we should start Skyping across the room.
8. Disappointment: We were both disappointed that we couldn't finish our carousel quest. Hopefully, though, this will soon be rectified.
9. Reading: Jewel is reading Lydia Davis' Varieties of Disturbance. It's a collection of short stories, slightly obscure, but very thought-provoking. Ike is working on a collection of Steampunk short stories that Jewel gave him a couple Christmases ago. It's weird, but interesting.
10. Yummy: Genuine Mennonite Shoofly Pie that Ike's parents bought while on their weekend trip to the Finger Lakes. It's basically molasses in a crust with brown sugar crumbs on top, and it's delicious -- and almost gone.
