We made it to New York on Friday after about 14 hours on the road. This was my first time driving up, and I never want to do it ever again. This was me at the beginning of the trip.
This is such a bad picture and I have no idea why my eye is closed, but imagine this after 14 hours (not so pretty).I cringe just thinking about driving back in a month. It was a lot harder and tiring than I thought it would be, but we are here now and the delights have begun.
After a restful Friday night, on Saturday morning we went to the farmer's market in Vestal to pick up some veggies and other goodies for the 4th of July cookout.

Relaxed in the pool a bit with lovely dogs.
Ate at a great restaurant where Ike's brother cooks, and then, of course, ended the night with Soft Serve!!
This afternoon we are having a party with Ike's family and friends. Tomorrow we are off to the 4th of July parade in Candor. I'm excited to see this because each neighborhood gets together and creates a themed float. Then we are off to Cayuga Lake for a picnic and possible Kayaking. I hope you all are having a great holiday. Does anyone else have any fun plans?
