10 Things Tuesday

It's time for 10 Things Tuesday where I list happenings, thoughts, and feelings from the past few days.

1. Tasting: Marinated grilled veggie kebabs with portobello, squash, zucchini, and peppers. It was sooo good I was too busy eating to take a picture.

2. Feeling: The cool breeze off Buttermilk Falls on a hot summer day.

3. Seeing: Charlie swimming in the pond today with Riley and Eliot (the Smith's golden retrievers). I wish I had my camera, but it was an impromptu swim for the dogs after Ike and I swam in the pool. Charlie was a pretty good swimmer, he just needs more practice with not gulping down the water and choking as he paddles around.

4. Hearing: The Fife and Drum Corps and The Pipe Band in the Candor 4th of July Parade.

5. Smelling: Sunscreen: spray on, jump in pool, repeat.

6. Finding: A really sweet antique store in Ithaca. It's called the Antique Mall, and it used to be a poultry farm, so it is pretty large. There were tons of little treasures. I found a Saturday Evening Post from 1966 with Bob Dylan on the cover and snatched it up right away.

7. Habits: Exploring New York even more. Keuka Lake is next on our list of stops later this week. Jet Skiing here I come!!

8. Disappointment: Saw The Last Airbender last night. I am sorry to say it was a big disappointment. I had very high hopes for the movie, but the animated series is much much better. I think checking out the animated series is worth your time, unlike the movie. All three seasons are on Netflix's instant play.

9. Reading: Usually hurt is the category for number nine, but I am replacing it with reading because I'm always reading something. This week's read is Things I've Learned From Women Who've Dumped Me. It's a light humorous collection of stories. I just started, but so far so good.

10. Yummy: Ken (Ike's brother) and his girlfriend Dana made amazing deserts for the 4th. First a fruity concoction of preserves, peaches, strawberries, raspberries, and apples poured over baked cinnamon tortillas, then an absolutely wicked peanut butter oreo cheesecake. It was awesome!

Happy Tuesday!
