Hello Autumn: Bridge Run

Last Saturday was the Neuse River Bridge Run. Although Ike and I both had an early morning start, it was a great way to begin the day. Ike ran the full 10k! A few of our friends were running as well and they made it to the finish not far behind him. The event was pretty inspiring, especially seeing people being encouraged and supported during the race. At the end, an announcer hoorayed and yelled out the names of every runner crossing the finish line. I'm sure the runners felt awesome not only finishing, but coming in to finish with their name being called and the crown cheering in support. I met a man who finished quite early on who was running to celebrate his 58th birthday. He ran the 10k in about 50 minutes. The oldest runner in the 10k was 72 who finished at 1:09:44. Maybe next time I will run too.

I took a lot of video and when Ike gets around to editing it, I am sure he will post it. Until then, enjoy the pics.

I am so proud of him!
